Theoretical Knowledge Instructor/ Aviation ground instructor

ROLE OVERVIEW                  APPLY

The Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) will conduct cadets training for our client in a GCC country. He will be responsible for the delivery of core subjects within the training syllabus of Theoretical Knowledge, delivered in accordance with the training manual.

ROLE DUTIES

Ground Training

  • To teach ATPL aviation subjects to the highest standard and in accordance with the Leading-Edge Aviation Training Manuals (Including Helicopter Aerodynamics).
  • To prepare and update ground school course materials in accordance with the latest syllabus, making modifications in anticipation of future syllabus changes.
  • To regularly review training material to ensure it remains relevant and engaging, using innovative techniques and practices where they would add benefit.
  • To assess and act as an internal moderator in appropriate subject areas.
  • To prepare, invigilate and moderate appropriate Theoretical Knowledge exams.
  • To provide guidance and support to individual students, referring when necessary.
  • To act as Course Mentor on a rotational basis.
  • To act as Subject Matter Expert in a specific area, coordinating the enhancement of courseware and ensuring consistency of delivery.

Administration

  • To maintain accurate course records.
  • To attend open days and events as requested by their senior manager.
  • To attend all administrative, standardization and Instructor development meetings and in-service training as programmed

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a background in aviation (Retired/active pilot, Flight Engineer, Navigator, Meteorologist, etc.)
  • Have previous experience in delivering theoretical knowledge instruction and an appropriate theoretical background in the subject on which they will provide theoretical knowledge instruction.
  • Knowledge of technical aspect of an aircraft and helicopter aerodynamics is required.
  • Undergone a course of training in instructional techniques/ Basic ground instructor qualification with aviation experience.
  • Must pass an instructional technique evaluation.
  • ICAO English level 5 or equivalent to level 5.
  • Experience & ability to teach all ATPL subjects.
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of all aviation ground subjects is essential.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to quickly build a rapport with cadets.
  • Ability to create teaching documents and maintain order in the classroom.
  • Excellent report writing and IT skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word/Office/Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in the use of teaching aids i.e. table, whiteboard, models, laptop etc.
